Customer Testimonials….

“Jeff, Thanks for a wonderful day that exceeded all our expectations.  We came home so excited, all agreeing that we learned more in the first hour than we had in all our time with other guides.  The netted fish, your easy way of being, and your patience and care were very much appreciated.  Lunch was great too!  Thanks again…..Melissa Malone, Greensboro, NC, Nan Henson , Teresa Hoyt , Atlanta, GA, on a March 31, 2012 NC Trip

Thank you again for 2 super, glorious days of fishing 🎣   You are a true professional guide, in every sense of the word.   You were a gracious, patient, attentive, and most accommodating host. Plus you taught me a lot.
I would highly recommend you and your services to anyone.  All the best, Kevin O’Connor , Charlottesville, VA, on his two day trip at Dunlap Creek private water and day two South Holston float trip May 12- 13, 2017

6-27-2021 through 7-2-2021 FISHING REPORT – unavailable; will be returning very late on 7-2-2021 and will resume guided trips and orders on 7-3-2021.  We are quite behind on custom fly orders and will fill these as soon as possible.

7-6 and 7-7-2021 FISHING REPORT – Guided Trip, Ryan Sexton, Mathews, NC, TN tailwaters, two great days with Ryan, we enjoyed some hot, sunny weather (lol, we sweated like mad!) but the fishing was good.  We started off both days with the usual summer game….long leaders light tippets small flies……dries/dry droppers/terrestrials….and caught a bunch of fish on all …… Dry dropper fishing has been red hot and terrestrial fishing has been in full swing as well.  We were able to float both afternoons and did pretty well on our floats as well catching a lot of fish on dries as well as some on late in the day streamer fishing.  Killer two days with a great client….summer is the seaon of 18 hr days at times and this week is one of them.  So report is brief, the action is not!  Here are some photos….

7-9-2021 FISHING REPORT – Guided Trip, Dr Jim Kramer, Greensboro, NC, Ted Linczak, Summerville, SC, met the guys mid morning and we did a morning wade trip followed by a float trip…the morning provided its usual bounty of a mix of long leader, fine tippet, small fly nymphing , dry droppers, and dries…. and we did very well with about 40 fish.  Fishing has been outstanding and continues…..we slid the boat in and got into some dry fly fishing plus chucking some meat as well.  The dry fly action was good, a good bit of boat traffic but that eventually we had the river largely to ourselves.  Caught a few really nice fish toward the end…including one we won’t soon forget….a beautiful near 30″ buck brown trout that was one of the heaviest browns we’ve had in the boat this summer.  Great end to a great day.  Here are some pics….

7-10-2021 FISHING REPORT – Guided Trip, Dr Jim Kramer, Greensboro, NC, Ted Linczak, Summerville, SC, day two of a two day fishing foray with two of my most oft fished clients….we did some mid morning to mid afternoon wade fishing and almost zero competition from other anglers…we had good dry fly fishing and caught probably three dozen fish on dries, and quite a few on terrestrials….blue wings, sulphurs, etc., plus a few on dry/dropper rigs….probably another 10 or so with that….probably just under 50 fish on the wade portion of our trip.  We dropped the boat in mid afternoon right after the water came on and had some decent dry fly fishing before a thunderstorm dumped on us…fortunately it was not as bad as it could have been.  It did seem to tamper down the fishing on top…even afterward once it passed.  Few rising fish afterward which was a bit different and unusual as past few days but some days are like that.  We still caught another 20 or so rounding out a great day and two days.  Here are a few pics…

7-12-2021 FISHING REPORT – Guided Trip, Ted Linczak, Summerville, SC, Mike Workman, Thomasville, NC, Smallmouth, ppd we had high dirty conditions where we were going to fish, rescheduling

7-13-2021 FISHING REPORT – Guided Trip, Thane Barnes, Madison, NC, did some local bass/bluegills and had a good half day….fished early til about noon and it was blazing hot by then so we called it a day.  Caught plenty of bluegills and a shellcracker or two…..we are in between fish going on and off bed as we have a new class of fish spawning every full moon from May til Sept….. We probably caught 25 or so total.  Nothing on the surface, everything on subsurface bugs.  Had some pretty technical photo syncing issues with our site, but by God’s grace I was able to figure out a solution. Here are some pics:

7-15-2021 FISHING REPORT – Guided Trip, Ted Linczak, Summerville, SC, TN tailwater float, we had a great mid afternoon float til dark, we picked a window and it produced as Ted landed several 20 inch fish on our float including one near 30″ beast that was one of the heaviest browns I’ve ever had in the net….and this fish together with one last week on a similar float, also landed by Ted are the two largest fish of the year so far.  We caught a bunch of fish, several of which were absolute tanks……and did so with no other boats in sight most of the time as well.  It was great…..  finally solved some tech issues with the site and its photos/photo sync….Here are some pics from our smallmouth fishing…

7-16-2021 FISHING REPORT – Guided Trip, Ted Linczak, Summerville, SC, VA smallmouth float, we did a 12 mile smallie float in VA, and had some phenomenal streamer fishing for smallmouth and largemouth and landed 100 of them in a full day’s fishing.  We caught fish up to 2lbs and caught them on a variety of stuff including streamers and poppers.  The popper bite at times was epic, particularly early and late.  It was fantastic.  Photo post and sync issues with our site have been resolved , now to get back to editing….very time consuming~~!  Here are a few pics…

7-17-2021 FISHING REPORT – Guided Trip, Ryan Sexton, Mathews, NC, TN Tailwaters, ,met Ryan bright and early and had a great day wade fishing as the TVA gave us low flows so we made a wade day out of it.  We had clouds and rain and threatening skies early….then cloudy….things were slower than usual early but picked up as the day went on and we ended up getting into some great dry fly fishing and catching a great terrestrial bite as well.  We caught a bunch on dries and finished the day off with a few on nymphs too including a nice hook jawed male brown that was in the 22-23″ range.  Great day…..Praise be to God, photo upload sync issue that has caused me to pull some hair out (I don’t have as much as I used to to begin with) ……thankfully  it is resolved . Here are some pics…

7-21-2021 FISHING REPORT – Guided Trip, Shane Ledbetter, Greensboro, NC, TN tailwaters, we got a really early start and caught some fish nymphing on light tippet and long leaders and super L…….O……..N………G drifts…caught some nice brownies….then moved to another spot and caught a few on dries, then ended the day with a good terrestrial bite.   Decent day, challenging fishing , at least a bit more so than it has been so often lately…and that’s fine.  Shane hooked up on a brown that was in the 28-30″ range and played it for about 25 seconds and the fly pulled loose…….we were sick.  Challenging fishing…..We like challenging….only a few pics today, didn’t take a whole lot….

7-23-2021 FISHING REPORT – Guided Trip, Chris Frandock, Greensboro, NC, smallmouth, did a wade trip for smallies on the North and South Forks of the New…..caught some chunks both on streamers and poppers…and also an unexpected rainbow.  Water levels are perfect, water is clear, absolutely optimum fishing conditions.  We fished several long stretches and had a great time doing it.  Short, abbreviated report as I got in late and another trip very early on Saturday…..but Here are a few pics…..

7-24-2021 FISHING REPORT – Guided Trip, Adam Harman, Chris Morris, Winston-Salem, NC, TN tailwater wade trip….met Adam and Chris very early and we were on the water just after sun up.  We caught some early sight fishing with nymphs and had some good fish on the tiny stuff….caught several nice browns….had some kayaks pass through and we had to move so we went to another spot….kayaks again, so we left for a third spot I like midafternoons and we had great fishing for the rest of the day.  We had some excellent fishing catching fish on both dries and dry/dropper rigs, some quality browns and rainbows, until we called it a day around 630pm.  Great day, great time with great and fishy dudes….Here are a few pics of our day….

7-26 to 7-28-2021 FISHING REPORT – heat wave, we’d be out on the water but still finishing up our final preps for our Western hosted trips in August.  Also trying to get caught up on the absolute pile of fly orders I have….been way behind on that and seem to never get caught up here lately.  Thats the way though of custom tied flies during the busiest part of my guide season.

7-29-2021 FISHING REPORT– Guided Trip, Joe Craig, Pat Meisky, High Point, NC, TN Tailwaters float, clients had to cancel due to a work conflict…… missed a chance to fish in 95F heat!   Bummer

7-30-2021 – 8-2-2021 FISHING REPORT – Spent several days in Wilmington, NC with my son Ben…. our original plan was for inshore fishing and some tarpon fishing  …..windy and hot was the rule, always hot here in summer (July) but it was exceptionally hot….we spent a lot of time in the boat….had our best shots early before it got hot and before the wind got up… it was mostly speckled trout and ladyfish…..we had great fun, some great time catching up (never enough)….and had some awesome family time and great food.  Here are a few pics….
